Thanks for joining TPG International Health Academy on our 2018 Executive Trade/Study Mission to Lisbon, Portugal! By participating in this mission you are not just a Delegate, but an active member of the Academy. For over 20 years the Academy has conducted Trade/Study Missions in other countries, promoting the sharing of ideas and studying the evolution of healthcare all over the world. As an Academy alumnus, you would share a role in shaping the future of healthcare in our country and around the world as we in the United States look to reform our system by identifying successful models overseas. I am pleased that you will be joining me, along with an elite group of your peers, as a Delegate for this exciting event.

Tuition & Traveling Companion Info

There is a $5,000 tuition for all delegates participating in the Portugal Trade/Study mission. As a delegate, your tuition includes:

  • Hotel accommodations in a private room for a maximum of 5 nights, checking in on Saturday, October 13, 2018 and checking out on Thursday, October 18, 2018.
  • All scheduled group meals.
  • All group scheduled transfers and other ground transportation for recreational activities and group events.
  • All study materials; translation services (if applicable); admissions, tickets and other fares for scheduled cultural activities.
  • Gifts and honoraria for speakers and in-country hosts.
  • All sightseeing and visits as noted in preliminary agenda.
  • Service charges and gratuities for group activities.

Tuition does not include:

  1. Airfare for travel to and from the destination country.
  2. Documentation fees (i.e., passport, visa, etc.).
  3. Local U.S. and Portugal airport transfers, taxis, transportation, and parking, etc.
  4. Individual gratuities (e.g. bellman, housekeeping, etc.).
  5. Meals purchased while in transit to and from the host country or meals taken alone.
  6. Meals taken outside of the planned group meals.
  7. Telephone, internet, and other communications.
  8. Souvenirs and other individual purchases.
  9. Room service and valet/laundry service.
  10. Personal expenditures.
  11. Other items not specifically mentioned as included.

Delegates are required to participate in each of the following program activities:

  1. All Educational Sessions
  2. Patron Dinner
  3. Hospital/Facility Tours
  4. Business Lunches
  5. Ambassador or Consular Reception


General Policy: Traveling companions are invited to all breakfasts, evening events, and the Sunday sightseeing excursion. In order to maintain the small group dynamics of the presentations, traveling companions are not permitted in the educational sessions. Delegates are advised that the Trade/Study Mission is a working business trip; unscheduled time with traveling companions is limited.


Age Restriction: Traveling companions under the age of 18 are not permitted.


Traveling Companion Fee: The traveling companion fee is $2,500.00. The fee covers hotel up-charges, breakfasts, receptions, sightseeing tour and organized evening events. Airfare is not included.

Once that’s done, you will receive an email confirmation from us. If you haven’t yet submitted a registration agreement, we will follow-up with you and get that taken care of.
